It seems as though the San Francisco 49ers and breakout running back Raheem Mostert have mended the fence.

According to Ian Rapoport, the franchise has agreed to adjust the 28-year-old's contract, moving quickly to patch up the relationship:

The #49ers have agreed to adjust the contract for RB Raheem Mostert following his stellar play to end last season, per @TesslerSports. With the relationship in a better place last week, the two sides moved quickly.

Mostert was asking to be paid in line with top paid 49ers running back Tevin Coleman, whose base salary is worth $4.55 million. That number was nearly $2 million more than what Mostert was making before the team restructured his contract, with him making $2.575 million.

There has been no indication on how much the restructured contract will be worth now. Mostert's agent, Brett Tessler was happy the 49ers moved quickly to rebuild the relationship:

“Happy we got things worked out and looking forward to him having another great season there,” his agent Brett Tessler said. “Thanks to the organization for taking care of him.”

This move comes following Tessler announcing in early July that Mostert had requested a trade following a lack of communication between him and the franchise.

After bouncing around multiple teams in 2015 and 2016, including two stints on practice squads, Mostert found a home in San Francisco.

He finally had a breakout season in 2019, rushing for 772 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. His 952 total yards were 666 more than any other season in his career.
