San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman believes that his 2018 season is one of the most gratifying of his entire NFL career.

The Niners haven't had much success this season in posting just a 4-10 record to this point, but Sherman has managed to stay on the field for a majority of the season in playing 12 games in his first year in San Francisco.

And that has him thinking that this may be among the best years he's had in terms of being able to return strong after tearing his Achilles earlier in the year.

From Cam Inman of The Mercury News:

“It's definitely one of the more gratifying seasons to get through healthy and feeling better every week,” Sherman said Friday. “Coming from this Achilles (repair), there was so much left to the mind in not knowing how it would respond each week.

Sherman has recently discussed moving to safety at some point in his career, but he's still an effective defensive playmaker for the Niners at his current position.

Of course, it hasn't led to a ton of overall success for the team, with injuries playing a big role in the Niners' struggles this season.

But after a Week 15 win over the Seattle Seahawks, Kyle Shanahan's squad will try to keep the momentum going when they host the red-hot Chicago Bears on Sunday.

The competition doesn't get any easier after that, as Sherman and company will prepare for the Los Angeles Rams, who will try to get their season back on track after some recent struggles of their own.
