The San Francisco 49ers took a friendly jab at the New Orleans Saints on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

The tweet features 49ers tight end George Kittle stiff-arming and dragging Saints defenders despite being tugged by the helmet. Appropriately, the caption states, “Be a saint. Grab a face mask,” also including a link to California's COVID-19 resource website.

The play showcased in the tweet was one of the best highlights during the 2019 season.

San Francisco and New Orleans provided fans with arguably the game of the year in Week 14, with the 49ers edging the Saints 48-46 in a back-and-forth thriller.

The Saints took a one-point lead with just one minute remaining after Drew Brees found Tre-Quan Smith for an 18-yard score. Things looked dire for the 49ers on the ensuing possession, as they faced a 4th & 2 from their own 33-yard line.

But Kittle provided a moment of sheer magic.

49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo found Kittle on a crossing route, and the All-Pro tight end took off down the New Orleans sideline. Saints safety Marcus Williams tried to slow Kittle down by grabbing his face mask, but the attempt was futile. Kittle dragged Williams, Vonn Bell, and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson a few more yards before finally being taken down.

Kittle's remarkable display of strength and determination not only resulted in a 39-yard gain but also put the 49ers in a position to win the game. Robbie Gould would do just that, giving San Francisco the victory after drilling a 30-yard field goal.

It was an astonishing finish and also gave the 49ers a good excuse to advocate for wearing facial coverings in order to combat the spread of COVID-19.
