San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is unlike any other receiver in the NFL in terms of how he plays on the field. There's seemingly nothing the 49ers star can't do with the ball and he's electric in open space. However, Samuel might just be unlike any other receiver off the field too. He admitted he doesn't watch film of other NFL receivers. Here's the hilarious reason why, via NBC Sports.
“There’s not another receiver in the league that plays like me and do the things that I do. I don’t see the need to watch anyone that don’t do the things that I do,” Samuel said, via Jennifer Lee Chan of NBCSportsBayArea.com.
That is a classic Deebo Samuel response. Are there any 49ers fans that are surprised by this answer? Samuel is as confident as they come, and the team feeds off of that confidence.
It's just hilarious to imagine Kyle Shanahan asking Samuel to watch film of NFL wideouts and Samuel saying “nah.”
But the 49ers talented wideout does have a point. There really aren't any receivers that do what he is consistently asked to do in the San Francisco offense. It's still good to want to attempt to learn from other wideouts.
However, it's even better to have the level of confidence in oneself that Deebo Samuel has in his abilities.
