Deebo Samuel and the San Francisco 49ers are in a bit of a stalemate right now. The do-it-all wide receiver has requested a trade from his current team. However, the Niners aren't too keen on trading their best offensive weapon, and are trying their best to keep Samuel in tow. Despite the team's attempts, though, rumors of Samuel's destinations have proliferated.

One such rumor is Deebo Samuel potentially heading to the New York Jets. Baltimore Ravens safety Tony Jefferson actually predicted that this move might happen in the NFL draft. That did not make 49ers quarterback Trey Lance happy, as he responded with a blunt 3-word answer.

Samuel was arguably the 49ers' best player last season, at least on offense. The wide receiver made a name for himself after nearly doing everything on the field. Whether it's running the ball or playing as a traditional wide-out, Samuel was able to make plays for them in every single game. It's no wonder the team is desperate to keep him on the roster.

However, it's entirely possible that the 49ers pull the trigger on a Samuel trade if the right offer comes along. The Jets have already shown an inclination to trade for a star receiver (see: their bid to get Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs). If an enticing deal comes San Francisco's way, we might see Samuel in the white, black, and green of New York next season.

In the meantime, though, the Jets have made moves on the other side of the ball, drafting Ahmad Gardner with the fourth overall pick.
