Things are looking up for Tottenham Hotspur. After breaking tradition by not bottling their season finale, Spurs secured Champions League qualification for next season by placing fourth in the Premier League. Ensuring their spot in the Champions League next year was crucial for Tottenham, as it will give them a much better chance at retaining manager Antonio Conte, while also making them a much more attractive transfer destination in the summer window.

After recent years saw Tottenham's transfer market spending result in disappointment, the club managed to make some excellent additions this past year. The likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and Rodrigo Bentancur have all played invaluable roles since joining the club, and now the team looks set to splash out even more cash this summer to further buff up the squad.

Tottenham will likely look to address all levels of the pitch in the summer. While Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are at the top of their game, Spurs will want to bring in a backup striker to ease the workload on Kane, while also looking to address the midfield and defense. The team is rumored to be finalizing a deal to bring in veteran goalkeeper Fraser Forster as backup to Hugo Lloris, but there is plenty more movement to come for Tottenham.

The club was just handed a massive influx of cash, reportedly worth nearly $200 million, in order to better position themselves for some big moves in the summer transfer window. Tottenham needs to ensure they're using this cash wisely and avoid similar mistakes to the signings of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, among others.

With all that in mind, here are five players Tottenham should target in the summer transfer window after securing Champions League qualification for next season.

5 best signings for Tottenham this summer after securing Champions League in 2022-23

5. Gabriel Jesus, Manchester City

Gabriel Jesus' role at Manchester City appears to be dwindling following the addition of Erling Haaland. Jesus is rumored to be seeking a move away from the club, and Tottenham could be a reasonable destination for the Brazilian attacker. He'd be able to continue playing in the Champions League while getting opportunities to play out wide and as a striker alongside Harry Kane. Landing a player of Jesus' caliber would be a great addition to Tottenham's attacking ranks, and would be the type of signing that would prove to Conte that the club means business and seeks to match his ambitions.

4. James Ward-Prowse, Southampton

Something Tottenham has lacked in recent seasons is a playmaking midfielder and a free-kick specialist. Ward-Prowse fits that bill to a tee, as he's enjoyed a sensational run with Southampton over the past few years. The midfielder has emerged as one of the most lethal set-piece takers on the planet, and would be an excellent addition to Tottenham's midfield, where they're lacking someone with his ability to pass the ball with precision. There will be a handful of Premier League teams interested in landing Ward-Prowse this summer, but most of them won't be able to offer him the opportunity to play Champions League football for the first time in his career.

3. Allesandro Bastoni, Inter Milan

Allesandro Bastoni is the prototypical Conte defender, and it would be a huge coup for Spurs to bring him to North London. The Italian star has emerged as an elite center back in Italy and is an ideal candidate to stand in as the left-sided center back playing alongside Romero and Eric Dier. Tottenham's defense was excellent this season, but they lacked some depth in the backline. Adding the 23-year-old Bastoni would allow Tottenham to rotate more bodies into their defensive line, especially given the fact that Spurs have been utilizing 5 defenders in the back.

2. Christian Eriksen, Brentford

A reunion with Christian Eriksen could be the perfect move for Tottenham this summer. After his terrifying health scare at the Euros, the Danish international is back in action, playing for Premier League side Brentford. He looks sharp once again and could be intrigued by a move to a larger Premier League side. Returning to Tottenham on a free transfer would make a ton of sense for both Eriksen and the club. Tottenham could use some more depth in terms of attacking-minded midfielders, and Eriksen is familiar with the playstyle of both Kane and Son, having been teammates with them in the past. He's a fan favorite and would be welcomed back with open arms.

1. Raheem Sterling, Manchester City

Much like Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling faces an uncertain future at Manchester City. While Sterling has been linked to bigger clubs than Tottenham, including the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea, the English international could be intrigued by a move to North London. Sterling would likely see more chances on the field playing for Spurs than he would at Chelsea or Barca, and would still be in the Champions League, a huge selling point for a player of his caliber. Signing a player like Sterling would be a statement move by Tottenham, though it may be somewhat of a longshot.
