An all-time scorer in the NCAA before declaring for the 2024 WNBA Draft? One might think that only Caitlin Clark holds that honor and regard, but someone else shares the same distinction. Dyaisha Fair has been lighting the women's game up since her time at Buffalo and Syracuse. Unfortunately, her professional career did not quite pan out similarly to the other historic scorers in her draft class. This all comes after a big move made by the Becky Hammon-led Las Vegas Aces, which feature a stacked roster of A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum.

Aces' big decision

Dyaisha Fair has been waived by the Aces, according to the team's site. The Aces rookie has only seen four minutes of action throughout her time under Hammon, and that was when they faced the Indiana Fever. In that game, she was only able to produce two assists and now has the opportunity to make it into another WNBA squad's roster.

The Aces selected Dyaisha Fair with the 16th overall pick in the WNBA Draft. This got her to pair up with fellow 2024 WNBA Draft prospect Kate Martin. Both were able to do well and eventually get some playing time from Becky Hammon. However, the former Iowa Hawkeyes player just got to produce more. Given her scorer's mentality, the Aces might be looking for someone who fits better in their system. After all, they already have a loaded team of 20-plus point scorers in the likes of Plum, Wilson and Young.

Now, the sweepstakes for other WNBA squads to notch the Syracuse and Buffalo legend will start. There are a lot of other teams in the association that could really use someone who can boost their offense. Moreover, some squads in the league are in dire need of a youthful bucket-getter who does not run out of gas as often throughout the season. Her hoop dreams will definitely be alright.

The road to being the 16th pick in the WNBA Draft was not at all a cakewalk. Fair needed to prove herself worthy of a roster spot to Coach Becky Hammon and other head honchos to even get called up by Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. But, her resume clearly outshines many others in college basketball. She knocks down her shots with a 38.7% clip from all three levels of scoring and her 3-point stroke sees the bottom of the net 35% of the time. All of that made her average 22.2 points throughout her stints at Buffalo and Syracuse.

More impressively, she is only behind former Aces teammate Kelsey Plum and Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark in the NCAA's Division 1 all-time scoring list. Throughout her stint in the MAC, ACC, and NCAA Tournament, she amassed a whopping total of 3,403 points.

Fair is not just purely a scorer. She has enough experience in picking apart squads such that her college averages had her clock in 4.1 assists and 4.9 rebounds a night. Any squad that tries to get the 16th overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft would certainly be lucky.
