The Las Vegas Aces take on the Minnesota Lynx. Check out our WNBA odds series for our Aces Lynx prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Aces Lynx.

The Minnesota Lynx are the second-best team in the WNBA through two weeks. It's not even the fact that they have only one loss; it's more about the fact that they just hammered the New York Liberty a few days ago, all while the Las Vegas Aces — the team they are about to host — have played a soft schedule and have not looked especially dominant with the exception of their recent blowout of the Indiana Fever.

The Lynx's position as the second-best team in the WNBA is buttressed by the fact that they gave the unbeaten Connecticut Sun their toughest game to date. They led the Sun by four points late in regulation before going to overtime and losing by one point. The Aces are the defending champions this year, but they have to re-establish that status and play like the top team they are predicted to be. They haven't done so yet. Minnesota has shown signs of rising to the league's top tier after not being much of a factor in 2023. This is a very intriguing early-season game, and both teams have a lot to prove: Vegas must show that it is still the queen of the realm, while Minnesota gets a chance to earn elite status. A win over the Aces would give the Lynx a significant measure of early-season respect. Locker rooms across the league will take notice if Minnesota can deal a losing hand to Vegas.

Why The Aces Could Cover The Spread

The Aces have the most firepower of any team in the league. They have the most proven group of players. They have a team which has won championships and has answered every challenge. This is Las Vegas's first road game of the WNBA regular season. The team was okay at home but wasn't as sharp as many people expected it to be. Going on the road could increase this team's focus and enable Vegas to find the level of precision which has been missing to this point in the season. Coach Becky Hammon is going to unlock the potential of this team, much as she has done with previous Aces teams which went all the way.

Why The Lynx Could Cover The Spread

The key point to make about the Las Vegas Aces early in the season — as an explanation for why they aren't playing as brilliantly as some expected — is that guard Chelsea Gray remains out of the lineup with an injury. The full version of Vegas — the best iteration of this team — exists when Gray is running the show. That's when you see this team max out. With Gray out, the Aces aren't their best selves. The Lynx, who just pounded the New York Liberty at home, have to like their chances in this game.

Final Aces-Lynx Prediction & Pick

The lean here is to the Lynx, but fundamentally, the best position on this game is to stay away and wait for a live play.
