Alabama football is preparing for a monstrous Rose Bowl game against Michigan that kicks off on January 1. However, the Crimson Tide is taking an unorthodox approach in preparing for the College Football Playoff game. Or they're just taking it old school, thanks to the Connor Stalions scandal.

Nick Saban is reportedly not allowing his players to watch film on iPads at all leading up to the Rose Bowl, according to Bryan Fischer of FOX Sports. Due to Michigan's ongoing sign-stealing saga, the Alabama football team isn't taking any chances.

“The Connor Stalions Effect is real at Alabama this week at the Rose Bowl. Players said prep is different from previous bowls/game weeks as they're not allowed to watch film on their own iPads and instead are doing so only in position groups.”

This very well could be paranoia from the Alabama football program. Especially considering the Wolverines are still under investigation by the NCAA. So, it's hard to imagine Michigan actually attempts to steal signs ahead of the Rose Bowl.

On the other hand, there could be some legitimacy behind Saban's tactics, per Doug Samuels of Football Scoop. Crimson Tide wide receiver, Isaiah Bond, claims Michigan was potentially grabbing videos from an app most programs use to record film on iPads.

“The app we record film off…I guess they were looking at other peoples play calls, hand signals, stuff like that.”

If that's the case, it makes sense why Alabama football wants to play it safe. Might as well hold your cards as close to your chest as possible. Especially with a National Championship on the line. We'll see if it pays off though, as Michigan is still viewed as the favorite to take home the title this season.
