Remedy Entertainment has recently revealed an anniversary trailer dedicated to their action thriller title, Alan Wake, as it features Sam Lake (Creative Director at Remedy), Ilkka Villi (Alan Wake) and Matthew Porretta (Alan Wake) discussing a ton of new details regarding their history of creating the first Alan Wake Game, the ups, and downs of the original game's development, as well as their plans for the future of the Alan Wake franchise
In a nearly 14-minute video, they express their current development progress on Alan Wake 2, stating that the game's development is going really well. However, fans should be patient, as the game will not be released this summer, as stated by Sam Lake.
“Alan Wake 2 is in the full production stage. A lot of work remains, but the game is starting to take a more complete form in many areas. As communicated earlier, Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023.”
Instead, fans of the original Alan Wake should be excited for the upcoming Alan Wake Remaster, previously available on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, which will also be available soon on the Nintendo Switch.
They also mention that AMC, the television network responsible for producing popular shows such as The Walking Dead, will be set to produce a TV series based on Alan Wake. There are currently no further details regarding the creation or release of the Alan Wake TV series, but they will release more details whenever they become available.
While Alan Wake fans will have to wait a while to see these new projects come to light, the amount of focus and open dialog from Remedy Entertainment has been very pleasing to the community, as the fans are hoping that this level of communication will continue on in the future.
Alan Wake 2 Release Date: 2023
Alan Wake 2 will be sometime in 2023 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
