The All-Star Game on Sunday allowed the best players in the league today to share the court together, as well as interact with their teammates ahead of the exhibition game. With the players representing different teams in the NBA, it allowed them to spend some time to get to know everyone better and form strong bonds, just like what Kyle Lowry and Stephen Curry did.
The two had their chemistry going even before the game, as they joked around and had a lot of conversations. During the Golden State Warriors star guard's interview with FISLL, Lowry even videobombed him by putting a headband on him. He then took over the interview by being asked the same question given to Curry, and the Raptors point guard gave his thoughts about sacrifice and leadership, before sharing that he wants to leave a legacy of positivity to his kids.
This only proves that despite being competitors during the season, the two are good friends off the court. With Curry drafting him for the exhibition game, it also goes to show that he respects his game and admires his skills, which is a good idea for Curry since the Raptors are sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Lowry did not disappoint as he had a solid outing despite only scoring four points, as he added seven rebounds, 11 assists and three steals to help Team Stephen's cause.
His Raptors teammate, DeMar DeRozan, was the leading scorer for their side, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds, while Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers chipped in 19 points and eight rebounds of his own.
Unfortunately for them, LeBron James and company pulled off a come-from-behind victory, 148-145, to become the first winners of the new All-Star format.
However, with the strengthened friendship and chemistry Curry and Lowry built, they can already consider themselves winners as well as the weekend brought a lot of excitement and brotherhood among the players, which they could bring with them even after their NBA careers.
It will be interesting to see if their friendship goes beyond this season.
