Amanda Ribas is moving up to flyweight and taking on Katlyn Chookagian at UFC Vegas 54. The fight is a big one and a win here could lead to a very big opportunity for the Brazilian fighter.
There might be some pressure on Amanda Ribas as she takes on a former UFC title challenger in Katlyn Chookagian. The Brazilian is certainly not letting get to her as the fight approaches.
“That is so amazing because it’s the No. 1 (contender), so this for me … some people think, ‘It’s not too much pressure?’ For me, no,” Ribas told reporters at the UFC on ESPN 36 media day on Wednesday via MMAJunkie. “For me, it’s a huge opportunity. It’s amazing.”
A title shot is certainly realistic for Amanda Ribas after UFC Vegas 54 and she believes it will happen. Her answer was very clear when the media at the event asked her about it.

The game plan against Katlyn Chookagian is very clear and Amanda Ribas knows her game very well. The UFC flyweight very rarely loses and is a tough veteran in the division.
“I think she’s really good fighter and she’s No. 1,” Ribas explained. “I need to be careful because she throws a lot of punches and make a lot of points. I need to put my energy and make my distance because I don’t want her to enjoy the fight. If I did her to do that, it would be good for her, so I don’t want to do that.”
