It wasn’t long before news about the Rio Olympic village's terrible conditions leaked out to the world's attention.

Some countries are angry about the safety hazards and lack of repairs that have made the rooms uninhabitable.

Italy was reportedly so upset that it paid for it’s own contractors to bring the living conditions up to par.

Reports of water leaks, gas leaks, electrical issues, and other problems have caused half of the buildings to fail safety tests.

The final straw came when someone set fire in the parking lot, which tripped the fire alarm in the Australia national team's apartments.

Once the Australian athletes were evacuated from their rooms, someone moved into the building and stole their shirts and laptops.

The Australian National Team Officials refused to stay in the Village at all because of safety concerns, moving all of their athletes into another area altogether.

Andrew Bogut is upset about the conditions, and he lashed out on his Twitter account. After landing, he tweeted about being excited to be in Rio and how great things were ahead, but his tone quickly changed.

Bogut took shots first at the the Olympic delegates, and how they were given luxury residents to live in:

Afterwards, Bogut took a picture of himself sewing together a shower curtain with more comments about the lack of accommodations:

Bogut ended his onslaught of tweets, expressing his displeasure with having to sleep in single mattress beds:

The 2016 Rio Olympic Games officially begin on August 5th.
