The Los Angeles Angels roared back on Saturday following Anthony Rendon's Opening Day altercation with a fan. Although Rendon and the Angels did not speak about the situation Saturday as MLB continues an investigation into what transpired, the Halos let their play talk for them, beating Oakland 13-1.

Shohei Ohtani, Taylor Ward, and Gio Urshela led the charge on offense. Ohtani went 2-5 with a pair of RBIs out of the cleanup spot. Ward, who led off for the Angels, tallied three hits to go along with a home run and four RBIs. Meanwhile, Urshela added three hits and two RBIs from the eight spot in the lineup.

Rendon, who was surprisingly in the lineup following Thursday's incident, went 0-3 with an RBI. He was booed by the Oakland crowd during his at-bats as well.

Patrick Sandoval pitched five innings of one-run ball for the Halos. Tucker Davidson finished the game, completing four scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

It was an all around tremendous effort for the Angels, who were defeated by the Athletics on Thursday. One has to imagine the Anthony Rendon situation fired up the team. They reportedly had a team meeting ahead of the game. As mentioned earlier, though, Angels coaches and players refrained from discussing the altercation with the media since the investigation is ongoing, per Jeff Fletcher.

The Angels will aim to win their second consecutive game on Sunday against the Athletics. Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor and provide updates on the Anthony Rendon situation as they are made available.
