Ron Washington and Perry Minasian are having such a headache of a season. After their continuous plunge in the AL West with the Oakland A's nearly usurping them, another big problem occurred in the system. It has to do with Mike Trout's injury which may spell doom for a squad that is hoping to make a late-season surge such that they make the postseason.

Mike Trout is out for the season due to a meniscus injury, per Jeff Fletcher of The SoCal News Group. The news came before they faced their series closer against the Colorado Rockies and was delivered by Perry Minasian. Clearly, the whole Ron Washington-led squad is distraught. Even the Angels general manager could not hold back his feelings upon learning of the new tear.

While there are a lot of negatives surrounding the Angels superstar's injury, Minasian still chose to be optimistic.

“He’s gonna come back next year, win the MVP, hit 70 home runs,” he declared.

Trout was also very disappointed about how his season with the Angels went down. He outlined all of his thoughts on it through a post on X, formerly Twitter.

“Since my initial surgery on May 3rd to repair my meniscus, my rehabilitation proved longer and more difficult than anticipated. After months of hard work, I was devastated yesterday when an MRI showed a tear in my meniscus that will require surgery again – ending my hopes of returning this season. Playing and competing is a huge part of my life This is equally heartbreaking and frustrating for me as it is for you, the fans,” the Angels superstar declared.

While Trout may be going through one of the toughest injuries that he has faced so far, he kept the Angels faithful in his heart when disclosing the information.

“I understand that I may have disappointed many, but believe me, I will do everything I can to come back even stronger. I will continue to help my team and teammates from the dugout as we press forward into the second half of the season. Thank you for your support,” Trout concluded.

Prior to this news breaking, Washington and Minasian's Angels were getting their groove back. They have won six out of their last 10 games. However, this included a three-game losing streak to the struggling Oakland A's. This is still a bad indicator for their season.

Hope is not at all lost in the Angels system. However, it will be hard to get back into postseason contention because of Trout's injury setting them back.
