Anthony Johnson did not take too kindly to Bruce Buffer's recent comments about fighters outside of the UFC. The Bellator light heavyweight had to fire back on Instagram.

Bruce Buffer was referencing Francis Ngannou potentially leaving the UFC. He took to his podcast to take about fighters outside of the organization.

“No offense to other organizations, but you become irrelevant when you leave the UFC after a while,” Buffer said [h/t BJPenn.com]. “Instead of losing in the UFC your contract is being ended in the UFC, and you fall from the Octagon down into Bellator, [etc].”

Anthony Johnson saw the quote on an Instagram post and had to fire back at the UFC announcer. He did not hold back on the former colleague.

“Bruce needs to stay off Crack,” Johnson wrote “…How’s Anything irrelevant when providing food and shelter for family? Oh, btw I got paid way more for moving to another organization. Bruce has his guaranteed money so he can talk. FIGHTER’S have to wait and actually entertain ppl when they get the chance to make some money.”

Fighter pay is going to continue to be brought up in moments like this. Fighters outside of the UFC usually leave the organization for more money and better treatment from their employer.

Anthony Johnson has been on an extended break in Bellator after getting a very serious health issue last year. He has only fought once since retiring from the UFC back in 2016, after fighting Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight belt.
