Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant suffered a devastating Achilles injury upon his return to the court for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, one that will most likely prove season-ending. Yet several teams would be willing to sign him to a max deal, even after he sustained a potential career-derailing injury.

ESPN Insider Bobby Marks appeared on Tuesday's iteration of Get Up!, telling the panelists he'd spoken to three teams, getting a resounding “yes” from all of them, unequivocally convinced he'd be worth the risk.

Via Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report:

“I said … If you had cap space, would you go out and sign Kevin Durant knowing that he will likely be out maybe the whole year? And the resounding answer was ‘yes.' Each of the teams also said that they wouldn't even put any injury language in there for maybe years three and four to protect. So, yes, there will be a marketplace for Kevin Durant this summer, either with a team for four years, $141 million dollars or even back in Golden State here.”

Durant can opt out of his contract at the end of this season and become an unrestricted free agent.

The New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets and the L.A. Clippers are among the strong candidates to make a run for his services, but so are the Warriors, who could offer him the most low-pressure situation to recover from his injury, much like they did with DeMarcus Cousins this season.

Durant has already come back from a season-long injury after sustaining a Jones fracture in his foot and being forced to battle through setbacks and additional procedures until a season-ending surgery was required.

The 2014 MVP would eventually return for the 2015-16 season, one of the best of his prodigious career.
