The Auburn Tigers were seemingly poised to go into the 2022 season with former LSU transfer T.J. Finley as their starting quarterback. However, that might not be the case after the Tigers recent decision to bring in this former Texas A&M quarterback in via transfer.

Former Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada will remain in the SEC and transfer to Auburn. Calzada, who emerged as the Aggies' starter this year, is expected to compete with T.J. Finley for the Tigers' starting job.

Longtime Auburn starter Bo Nix transferred to Oregon, which opened the door for Finley, who started the Tigers' last three games, throwing for four touchdowns and one interception as the Tigers lost all three games, notably taking Alabama to four overtimes.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Calzada was excellent for Texas A&M down the stretch, as he threw for 12 touchdowns and five interceptions in his last seven games while leading the Aggies to a 5-2 record in that span, including wins over Alabama and Auburn, with Finley missing that contest.

Both Calzada and Finley have interesting cases as the starting quarterback for Auburn in 2022. Tigers head coach Bryan Harsin will have a tough decision to make between T.J. Finley and ex-Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada in 2022.
