Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games have just released their first wave of new DLC content for Back 4 Blood, their spiritual successor to Valve's Left 4 Dead series. This new DLC is a complete expansion that adds a slew of new features, including new characters, new ridden enemies, player skins, and more.

In a launch trailer revealed on April 7th, 2022, Back 4 Blood showcases a new set of PvE areas known as Ridden Hives, which players can choose to venture into in order to search for extra loot and equipment, at the cost of having to fight off bigger waves of ridden enemies along with mutated traps all throughout the level. However, players can also use the traps to their advantage in order to take out or stun the enemy ridden when the opportunity presents itself.

Along with the new Ridden Hives, two new Cleaners will be joining the roster, including Sharice, who specializes in armor plate buffs while having strong trauma resistance and granting the team extra health, and Heng, who specializes in sensing hive entrances and nearby gear pickups, along with the ability to grant re-uses for team accessories.

To go with the new DLC's theme, players can equip one of eight new hazmat suit skins, or equip one of the seven new legendary weapon skins or player cards to give themselves an edge in battle. To top everything off: Players can experience the new “No Hope” difficulty level, for those that are looking for a bit more challenge than ever before, which is available for free, regardless if players own the Tunnels of Terror DLC.
