Barcelona all-time great Andres Iniesta is certain Xavi Hernandez has what it takes to take the place of Ronald Koeman.

With Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann out, Barcelona seems to have lost its mojo and the pressure is starting to break the team apart.

Rumors swirled that Barca boss Ronald Koeman is on the verge of being sacked following the club’s poor run this season.

Commenting on the subject, Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta said that things have been difficult prior to Koeman’s arrival but he still hopes the Dutchman be “lucky” enough to find a solution.

“The Barca coach knows that he is always predisposed to all situations,” Iniesta recently told Barca Universal. “The moment the coach entered, it is clear, it was not easy, nor is it now. Everything needs its time. Hopefully, he is lucky and the team finds the good feelings again.”

When asked if his former Barcelona co-star Xavi Hernandez could possibly help  the Catalans get back up when hired to replace Koeman, Iniesta suggested that it would be a wise move to make.

“I think so. If you ask if I imagine Xavi on the Barça bench, without being misinterpreted as you say it has to be now, everyone would agree that it is,” he explained. “Especially since he has been preparing and is trained. He has the confidence to meet that challenge.”

“All I want is for Barça to find that positive line again in every way, football and institutional,” he added. “Today that is what would make me happier.”
