There are now 11 players who won't be able to play in The Singapore Major due to COVID-19 and other health issues. The latest among these players consist of all five players of Beastcoast.

ALL FIVE PLAYERS OF BEASTCOAST OUT OF THE SINGAPORE MAJOR

Beastcoast announced that they have no choice but to pull out of The Singapore Major. They revealed that their team captain, Steven Vargas ‘Stinger' Mamani got exposed to the coronavirus. Stinger's proximity to the rest of the team makes them potentially exposed as well. Thankfully, none of the players have tested positive for the virus. However, they had to make the decision to pull out of the Singapore Major. This is because Stinger's quarantine period will coincide with the tournament's event dates.

“In accordance to WHO guidelines,” Beastcoast explains, “we will be enforcing a quarantine for all our players as a precautionary measure. In turn, we are making the difficult decision to pull out of the Singapore Major and prepare for the next DPC Season.”

Pulling out entirely from the tournament means Beastcoast is missing out on at least 200 DPC Points and $12,500 in prizes. Both currencies are in extreme shortage nowadays thanks to the global situation. This is most especially true for the DPC Points that only Valve-sanctioned events can provide. Not being able to compete in any of the Majors seriously affects teams' chances of competing in The International.

As of now, the organizers of the Major haven't announced if any team will replace Beastcoast.

Meanwhile, five other teams will also have to play with a different roster in The Singapore Major because of health concerns. Neon Esports, T1, Team Nigma, Natus Vincere, and Quincy Crew will have to play with subs. Hopefully, this will be the last news regarding teams being forced not to play with their complete rosters due to medical reasons. Until then, we can only hope for the best.
