It hasn't been a fun season in Cincinnati.

The Bengals are 0-11 and seem to have a legitimate chance of becoming just the second 0-16 team in NFL history, with the 2008 Detroit Lions currently representing the only club to hold such a dubious distinction.

In the midst of Cincinnati's horrendous 2019 campaign, the Bengals decided to bench veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in favor of rookie Ryan Finley, but due to some very poor results in Finley's three starts, Cincy has decided to go back to Dalton.

Dalton said he was upset when the benching first occurred, but now, he says he has gained a “whole new perspective” and that it will merely serve as “part of my story,” per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

As for Dalton's future with the club? He isn't really thinking about that right now. He just wants a win:

“I’m worried about this season, these last five games,” Dalton said at a press conference. “I have no idea what’s going to happen moving forward. I’m just worried about these next five.”

Dalton is under contract through 2020, so he could very well end up back with the Bengals next season, but based on how Cincinnati temporarily moved away from him this year, his future with the franchise doesn't look too bright.

In the eight games he has started in 2019, Dalton has thrown for 2,252 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 60.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 79.2.

The 32-year-old was drafted by the Bengals back in 2011 and has been a fixture under center for the club ever since.
