Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow turned many heads when he finally made his NFL debut on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Enter Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield to the long list of tenured players who admired the rookie's game on the field.

Browns writer Scott Petrak shared what the former Oklahoma Sooner gunslinger has to say about Burrow via Twitter:

Both Mayfield and Burrow's performances in their respective opening games of the 2020 season were comparable to night and day. Mayfield had a game to forget as he only tallied 189 passing yards on 21 of 39 passes completed along with a scored passing touchdown. His subpar performance led to the Browns' huge 38-6 defeat in the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.

On the other hand, Burrow had a better outing by throwing a total of 193 yards on 23 of 36 completions. He was also inches away from pulling off an upset against the Los Angeles Chargers if it wasn't for the missed field goal attempt of Bengals kicker Randy Bullock. The Cincinnati-based squad ran out of luck to which the game ultimately went to the Bolts' way via a 16-13 outcome.

Despite contrasting performances, the two quarterbacks share a common goal to lead their team to come out on top of a tight AFC North competition. Mayfield and Burrow will find themselves on opposing sides as they tussle in a much-awaited matchup between former Heisman Trophy winners.

The two playmakers will go head-to-head on September 17 as the Bengals visit the Browns in FirstEnergy Stadium.
