The glaring issue for the Cincinnati Bengals last season was on the offensive line. Despite the porous nature of the guys up front, Joe Burrow and Co. staged a run to the Super Bowl, but ultimately came up short in a loss to the Rams. Well, early in free agency, the Bengals are looking to address the need up front, and are in talks with former Cowboys offensive lineman La'el Collins, according to Mike Garafolo.

Garafolo indicates that Collins was visiting with the Bengals on Thursday, just after his release from the Cowboys. Collins was let go by Dallas in a cost-cutting move, and was linked to the Patriots early on. Now it looks like the Bengals are trying to capitalize on the 28-year-old's departure from the Cowboys and buff up their own offensive line by bringing Collins to town.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the deal with the Bengals “has a chance” to get done, which bodes well for fans in Cincinnati who were hoping to see some big improvements on the offensive line.

Collins was an undrafted rookie in 2015 but latched on with the Cowboys as a free agent. He developed into a key piece of their offense, having started 47 games from 2017-2019. He missed the entire 2020 season, but returned and featured in 12 games last season.

The Cowboys opted to cut him with a post-June 1st designation in order to free up cap space, which could end up benefitting Cincinnati in its pursuit for a boost in the trenches, if they manage to get a deal done.
