Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan is excited about what he has seen from Joe Burrow since he was selected with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow has been good, but Callahan is also excited about what he has seen from the other quarterbacks on the roster.
“Joe Burrow’s been outstanding and so have all the other quarterbacks. It’s been fun. We really get to talk about a lot of things that sometimes you don’t get to talk about this time of year because we are just meeting a lot. I’m sure they are tired of meeting. I know it kind of wears on you eventually. They’ve been locked in and they’ve been responding to everything,” Callahan said to Tyler Dragon in the Cincinnati Enquirer. “As far as learning it and picking it up, they’ve been great.
Along with Burrow, the Bengals also have Ryan Finley and Jake Dolegala. They are young, but Callahan believes that is actually an advantage because they can mold the quarterbacks to how they want. They can take different clips from around the NFL to try and show what they want out of their three young guys.
“For having three young quarterbacks, that’s the advantage right now. For us, we really get to teach and pull a concept in and I can pull clips from all over the league. We can watch 30 clips from a pass concept. We’re not getting the physical reps but we’re getting a lot more visual and mental reps on things we wouldn’t normally this time of year.”
Even though there are three young quarterbacks, going forward all the questions are going to be surrounding Burrow and his development.
