It's only a matter of time before Joe Burrow gets paid. The Cincinnati Bengals star is due for a contract extension, and everyone is expecting the QB to receive a massive extension. Or at least… that's what we hope will happen. The radio silence from both camps regarding the extension has some fans worried. Mike Brown, the Bengals' owner, latest comments on Joe Burrow's extension only serves to make fans even more worried, per Charlie Goldsmith.

Mike Brown: “I've bound myself not to talk about Joe's contract. They've made the same pact.” “It is what it is. They want the best they can get. They know what they're doing.”

Well, that certainly doesn't feel… right. Joe Burrow is easily the best thing that's ever happened to the Bengals in the last decade or so. Burrow's arrival has changed the culture of the team. Cincinnati must do everything in their power to pay Burrow anything that he wants, lest they piss him off. He's deserved it, after everything he's done in Cincinnati.

Still, everyone is hoping that their fears are unfounded, and that Burrow gets paid accordingly. The Bengals technically have two more years to get Burrow an extension (since the QB opted into his fifth-year option). However, with fellow 2020 draftees like Jalen Hurts getting a new deal, the onus is on Cincy to give Burrow the same amount, if not more.

Burrow isn't the only Bengals star looking for his payday. Fellow 2020 draftee Tee Higgins is also due for an extension. Like Burrow, Higgins is also deserving of a massive payday. He is an elite secondary option who would be the top receiver on many other teams. Paying Burrow and Higgins (and eventually, Ja'Marr Chase) will cost a pretty penny, but that's what it takes to keep a title contender alive.

For now, Burrow and the Bengals will focus on the upcoming season and getting back to the Super Bowl. Their 2022 season was almost perfect… if not for their tragic loss in the AFC Championship Game. Now, they're looking to get revenge and make their way back to the big game.
