The Cincinnati Bengals made it to Super Bowl 56 thanks to the contributions of stars such as Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Trey Hendrickson, though they wouldn't have made it to the big game without kicker Evan McPherson. McPherson made a couple of clutch kicks to earn the Bengals two playoff victories, vaulting him into NFL stardom in the process. However, not everyone always knew who the Bengals kicker was. McPherson hilarious recalled the time fans didn't recognize him, as reported by Sports Illustrated.

“I would go to Target and nobody would have a clue who I was,” McPherson says. “I could be walking around wearing a No. 2 McPherson jersey and everyone would be like, ‘Aww that’s cool he’s a Bengals fan and … he likes the kicker!’”

Bengals kicker Evan McPherson recalled going to Target and being asked for a picture. The Bengals kicker said this is a stark contrast from how life used to be, as he could “go to Target and nobody would have a clue who he was.”

McPherson said that people would say it's cool that he's a fan of the Bengals kicker while he was wearing his own jersey, hilariously not realizing that they were seeing the actual Cincinnati kicker.

Evan McPherson should probably get used to being recognized at Target after his playoff greatness.
