The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the surprise teams of the NFL season thus far. The New York Jets were even more surprising in their Week 8 showdown, as they handed the Joe Burrow and Co. just their third defeat of the season.

Joe Burrow spoke out on the backbreaking loss, and was highly complimentary of his quarterback counterpart in Mike White, who was making his first career start for the Jets in place of the injured Zach Wilson.

“He was impressive,” admitted the Bengals QB. “He played really well and I told him that after the game. Congrats to him, first start playing that way against our defense that's been really really good all season. So congrats to him and excited for him and his family.”

Joe Burrow was solid on the evening, with 259 yards on a 21-34 passing clip for three touchdowns and one interception. But that lone pick proved to be what cost them the game.

The Bengals looked to have complete control of this one late in the fourth quarter. Joe Burrow's touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd put them up, 31-20 with just over seven minutes left in the final frame.

But a quick TD drive from Mike White and a subsequent interception from Burrow right after spelled doom for Cincinnati. The Jets QB was a stud in his debut, tossing 37-45 for 405 yards with three TDs and two interceptions, including what turned out to be the game-winning toss to Tyler Kroft with under four minutes to play.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals would definitely like to have this one back. But after the game of his life, Mike White wouldn't trade it for the world.
