Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Cordy Glenn missed another practice on Monday with a concussion — as confirmed by the Enquirer's Tyler Dragon. With Glenn out, Dragon mentions that right tackle Andre Smith has switched to the left side with the starters.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor noted on Monday that Glenn suffered the concussion last Thursday against the Washington Redskins.

“He reported a concussion after the last game, so better to keep him inside these couple days as he goes through the protocol,” said Taylor, via Local 12's Richard Skinner. “Just like any concussion, it’s impossible to know when they are going to come back. We’re just taking it day-by-day.”

The concussion means that Cordy Glenn will likely be out for the rest of the preseason, including the third game, a “dress rehearsal” against the New York Giants.

Taylor said, per Skinner:

“That would be a safe assumption (he doesn't play against the Giants), Taylor told reporters on Monday. “Usually it takes a week to go through these things. That’s typically been the history and just the average across the league. We are not going to treat it differently. He’s going through the protocol and we’re gonna take it from there.”

The loss of Cordy Glenn is the team's second big one at left tackle this offseason. Jonah Williams, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, suffered a torn labrum in July. Originally, Glenn was set to slide into the left guard spot with Williams at left tackle.

Glenn should be back for the regular-season opener. If not, Smith will likely get the starting snaps as the blindside protector.
