Ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, where he is presumed to be going No. 1 to the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow called Peyton Manning for some advice. Besides giving him legitimate advice, Manning also made it clear that he wouldn't mind if Burrow broke his rookie interception record.

Similar to what is expected to happen for Burrow with the Bengals, Manning was the No. 1 pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. With lofty expectations in his rookie season, Manning would throw for 3,739 yards and 26 touchdowns in 1998.

At the time, Manning set the single-season rookie record with 26 passing touchdowns. However, he also threw 28 interceptions, setting a rookie record that he wishes he didn't have. Despite his turnover issues earlier in his career, it's safe to say that Manning ended up just fine in the NFL.

As for Burrow, he didn't throw many interceptions in his two seasons as a starter at LSU. Altogether, Burrow had only 11 interceptions in his two seasons, with just six of them coming in 2019.

While he didn't turn the ball over much, Burrow would finish his final collegiate season with 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns. Seeing how he performed in college, there's hope that Burrow can translate his decision-making to the next level with the Bengals.

With that being said, regardless of how quarterbacks have played in college, some of them struggle with interceptions early in their NFL careers. Since 1998, Manning has held the rookie record for most interceptions thrown in a season.

Even though he wishes the best for Burrow, Manning wants him to supplant his interception record.
