The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in thrilling fashion on Sunday. Fresh off of making NFL history last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow authored another impressive performance against the Chiefs defense, throwing for over 400 yards and four touchdowns for the second straight game. However, Burrow appeared to exit the game late with an apparent injury. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Burrow revealed the real reason why he took himself out of the game against the Chiefs.

Per Rapoport, Burrow apparently had been dealing with a sore knee, which Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that the second-year pro twisted up during the game against the Chiefs.

Burrow knew that the Bengals were going to win the game and all that needed to be done was kneel the ball to run the clock out. The Bengals star removed himself from the game so as to not further injure his knee while running the clock out.

However, while Burrow took the cautious approach with his knee at the end of the Chiefs game, the Bengals signal-caller did note that he could have returned to the game if needed, which is big news for a Cincinnati team that is trying to make a playoff breakthrough after years of struggling in the postseason.

With Joe Burrow playing at an otherworldly level- and seemingly healthy- the Bengals shouldn't be overlooked in the AFC playoffs.
