tyler eifert has been one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL throughout his career, but has been unable to avoid injuries and stay on the field. Coming into Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons, the Cincinnati Bengals had been very excited about Eifert’s level of play. Unfortunately, Eifert once again has suffered what appears to be a very serious injury.
Barstool Sports shared a video on Twitter that shows Eifert running and being tackled. The gruesome part of the video shows Eifert’s lower leg folding underneath the defender that was tackling him.
If you have a weak stomach, watching this video is not something that you should do.

One can only hope that the injury is not as serious as it looks. If it is, Eifert will likely miss the rest of the season.
Coming into Week 4, Eifert had caught 11 passes for 141 yards. Before being injured this afternoon, he had added six receptions for 74 yards. This injury is extremely disappointing, not just for Bengals’ fans, but for NFL fans in general.
At 28 years old, Eifert is currently in what should be the prime of his career. Cincinnati has not seen Eifert play more than eight games in a season since the 2015 campaign. He has actually never played a full 16-game season, with the closest to that being 15 games as a rookie back in 2013.
If Eifert does miss the remainder of the season, Cincinnati will have to turn to Tyler Kroft to man the starting job. Kroft is a quality tight end, but does not have as much potential as Eifert brings to the gridiron.
