Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert suffered yet another disappointing premature end to his season as broke his leg in Sunday's 37-36 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

It has added to what has been an injury-plagued career, but Eifert has taken to social media to take a more encouraging approach to the situation by voicing that he underwent successful surgery and that he will be back on the field.

Eifert had suffered the injury after making a catch that saw him take an awkward looking hit that put his leg in a compromising spot to where it was bent in a difficult angle. This has ended his 2018 season after just four games, which has only provided more frustration to what has been a career defined by numerous injuries that have prevented him from ever fulfilling his potential. When healthy, he has proven to be a huge factor in the passing game as a legitimate red-zone threat.

Prior to this season, he had missed 22 regular season games over the last two seasons due to various injuries along the way. He hasn't played in more than 15 games in any campaign while he has missed 38 games through his first five years in the league. Eifert had appeared to be past his previous back injuries that limited his availability over the last few years. It is yet another hurdle for him to jump over as he will likely head into free agency next year as the Bengals had offered him a one-year deal to remain with the team this season as a last-ditch effort for him showcase if he can get past his injuries.

This now sets up a crucial process ahead in his career to prove that he can get past this latest injury and be a productive player on the field that can stay relatively healthy.
