It's been more than a year since The Mandalorian graced our screens. Since then, everyone had the chance to watch The Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: Visions to get their fix of a galaxy far, far away. But it can't be denied that the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu are the go-to option for fans in need of that old-school hype and excitement from the franchise. Fortunately, the wait won't be long now, according to this Better Call Saul star.

During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Giancarlo Esposito revealed a tease that will leave Star Wars fans relieved and excited for the coming months at the same time. The Better Call Saul star, who's also playing Moff Gideon, said that the beloved series is set to premiere sometime this summer.

“You’ll get it soon. You’ll get it soon. I got a little few things to do in regards to that, to put some finishing touches on what I do, but I believe it will be sometime this summer. No date set yet, but coming soon,” Esposito coyly said.

The fan-favorite actor also spoke about how Jon Favreau approached him to appear in the Mandalorian as Moff Gideon, one of the few remnants of the Empire and its primary antagonist in the series so far.

“I have nothing but great things to say about this studio, about this franchise, in regard to how they have enlightened our children to mythology, and to what’s right, and how to go about doing what’s right,” Esposito said before joking Favreau about one condition that must be met first.

“I’ve got one caveat, Jon,” the Star Wars actor said. “He’s like ‘Oh, what’s that?’ I said, ‘I must have a cape.'”

And a cape he did get, along with a badass role that has elevated this part of the franchise to unexpected heights. While the date hasn't been confirmed by Disney yet, it's safe to say that Din Djarin, Grogu, and the rest of The Mandalorian crew will appear very soon. But for now, those who want to see more of Esposito can look forward to Better Call Saul's finale, which will reportedly see the return of an iconic duo.
