The Rangers lost two of three games at home to the Cleveland Guardians. Sadly, they are 1-5 over the past six games. It has put a damper on their morale after they started 6-3 over nine games. Therefore, they are looking to dominate their divisional rivals.
The Rangers went 7-6 against the Angels last season. Yet, the Angels went 4-3 over seven games at Globe Life Field. The Rangers are 11-9 over the past 20 games against the Halos at home. Now, the teams will battle with two familiar pitchers.
Tyler Anderson starts for the Angels. He is 3-4 with a 2.92 ERA. Amazingly, he tossed 6 2/3 innings while allowing three earned runs and seven hits while striking out four and walking one in a loss to the Kansas City Royals. Anderson is 1-0 with a 3.44 ERA with 31 strikeouts over seven games against the Rangers.
Andrew Heaney starts for the Rangers. He is 0-4 with a 4.39 ERA. Correspondingly, he tossed five innings while allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out eight in a no-decision against the Colorado Rockies. Heaney is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA over three games against the team that drafted him. Now, he seeks his first win of the season.

Why The Angels Will Cover The Spread/Win
The Angels are one of the worst teams in baseball. Yet, they are finding ways to hit the baseball. The Halos are currently 10th in batting average and slugging percentage. Moreover, they are ninth in home runs. But the Angels are also 16th in on-base percentage and 15th in runs. Therefore, some of their key players need some work.
Nolan Schanel is hitting .244 with four home runs, 15 RBIs, and 13 runs. Significantly, it will be his first showdown with Heaney. Taylor Ward is batting .269 with eight home runs, 26 RBIs, and 25 runs. Yet, he is 0 for 3 against Heaney. Logan O'Hoppe is batting .260 with three home runs, 19 RBIs, and 15 runs. Moreover, he is 0 for 3 against Heaney. Jo Adell is hitting .248 with seven home runs, 18 RBIs, and 18 runs. However, he is 0 for 2 against Heaney. Willie Calhoun is batting .319 with one home run, four RBIs, and nine runs. Substantially, he is 4 for 11 with one home run and one RBI against Heaney.
The Angels have struggled on the mound. Sadly, their team ERA is just 28th. The Angels also have the worst bullpen in baseball, displaying an inability to hold a lead or even keep the game close.

Adolis Garcia has continued to mash the baseball, batting .259 with 10 home runs, 34 RBIs, and 23 runs. Yet, he is just 2 for 13 with a double and nine strikeouts against Anderson.
The Rangers are having consistency issues on the mound. Currently, they are 18th in team ERA. The Rangers also have the second-worst bullpen in baseball.
The Rangers will cover the spread if they can draw some walks against Anderson and force him into bad innings. Then, they need Heaney to find the sweet spots in the strike zone.

The Angels are slumping badly right now. Likewise, the Rangers are not getting it done, either. But the Angels are also not nearly on the same level as the Rangers. Even with Anderson pitching, the Halos will have their hands full with this team. The Rangers will lean on Heaney, who has been inconsistent this season. Despite his struggles, he is overdue for a good game. Expect Heaney to put all the pieces together and get his first career win against his former team. Additionally, the Rangers will batter enough runs to cover the spread.
