The Milwaukee Brewers are in south Florida to take on the Miami Marlins Monday night. Check out our MLB odds series as we hand out a Brewers-Marlins prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The Brewers are currently leading the NL Central. They are coming off a weekend series loss against the Houston Astros, but that does not change their place in the standings. Milwaukee has won six of their last 10 games heading into Monday.

The Marlins are in last place in the NL East, and they are coming off a weekend series win over the New York Mets. The Marlins are 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they are playing much better than the way they started the season.

The Brewers will have Joe Ross on the bump. Ryan Weathers will get the ball for the Marlins.

Why The Brewers Will Cover The Spread/Win

Milwaukee is having a great season, and it is a little bit of a surprise. They are in first place in the NL Central, and they are looking very good. The Brewers have the third-best batting average, and fourth-best slugging percentage. Milwaukee is also top-10 in barrel percentage, hard hit percentage, and average exit velocity. The Brewers should be able to continue this success against Ryan Weathers and the Marlins.

Weathers is below the 35th percentile in xBA, average exit velocity, chase percentage, strikeout percentage, and barrel percentage. He gives up quite a few hard hits, and the Brewers should take advantage of that. With William Contreras, Christian Yelich, and Rhys Hoskins, the Brewers have a dangerous lineup. If they get hot off Weathers, Milwaukee will win this game.

Why The Marlins Will Cover The Spread/Win

Miami needs to come alive with their bats in this game. There is a good chance for them to do that, as well. Joe Ross has a 4.61 ERA, and 1.37 WHIP this season. He is also allowing opponents to hit .253 off him this season. The Marlins need to get hot offensively if they want to win this game, and Ross allows that to happen occasionally. As long as the Marlins put up some runs, they can win this game.

Miami is a free-swinging team, so they have to be careful. Ross has a great whiff percentage, but he does allow hard contact. When the Marlins make contact in this game, expect it to be hard. Miami has been pretty good as of late, so they are carrying momentum into this game. If that continues, expect an upset.

Final Brewers-Marlins Prediction & Pick

I think this game is going to feature a lot of runs. However, I do not think the Marlins are going to win it. The Brewers are the better offense, and Joe Ross is capable of good outings. The Marlins are also not a team I want to bet on. For that reason, I am going to take the Brewers to not only win this game, but cover the spread, as well.
