Why Cedric Doumbe Will Win

Cedric Doumbe is coming off his first professional MMA defeat but it did come with some controversy. Doumbe stopped the fight midway through the round because of a malfunction in the Bellator cage however, the referee called a halt to the fight due to Doumbe not being able to continue. After the fight was over, it was believed that Doumbe had a splinter in his foot from the canvas which would be at fault for the promotion but he was docked with his first loss of his MMA career. Now, Doumbe will be looking to put that in the rearview and get back on track in his 7th professional bout when he takes on Bellator veteran Jaleel Willis on Friday night in front of his home crowd.

Cedric Doumbe will take on his most experienced adversary in his short MMA career when he takes on Jaleel Willis. Willis is stepping in with a couple of week's notice after Derek Anderson had to withdraw due to a motor vehicle accident. While Willis is a skilled opponent who has faced elite competition throughout his career, he's at a distinct disadvantage if this fight stays on his feet. Willis isn't a major grappling threat as long as Doumbe keeps this fight standing we can expect knockout No. 6 coming on Friday night in Paris.

Why Jaleel Willis Will Win

Jaleel Willis has hit a rough patch in his MMA career losing three out of his last four fights and most recently getting knocked out by Ramazan Kuramagomedov. Willis will be stepping in on short notice after Derek Anderson had to withdraw from the fight after a motor vehicle accident. He will be looking to right the ship and take on former Glory kickboxing champion Cedric Doumbe.

Jaleel Willis is as tough as they come and has the skillset along with the experience to make this one of the toughest fights of Cedric Doumbe's young MMA career. While he may not be the technical savant or have the power that Doumbe possesses he still possesses the fight IQ and overall MMA experience to take Doumbe into deep waters. Grappling may not be Willis' area of expertise but he certainly will test Doumbe's grappling in this fight and if he's able to mix in the takedowns along with his striking he can potentially score a huge upset and get back on track this Friday night.

Final Cedric Doumbe-Jaleel Willis Prediction & Pick

This fight should be a banger for however long it lasts. Jaleel Willis knows he can't just stand in front of Doumbe or he's going to suffer the same defeat as he did against Kuramagomedov, so he's going to need to use his feints, get within boxing range to land his shots, and then mix in the takedowns. Meanwhile, Doumbe will need to keep this fight on the feet in any way possible and if he's able to do that it's his fight to lose. Ultimately, things will close early on and once those failed takedown attempts come that's when Doumbe will capitalize and put Willis away midway through the fight getting his sixth win in his pro MMA career.
