The Atlanta Dream take on the Minnesota Lynx. Check out our WNBA odds series for our Dream Lynx prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Dream Lynx.

The Minnesota Lynx are now tied for second place in the loss column of the WNBA standings, now that the New York Liberty have lost their third game. Minnesota and New York both have three losses, so this game against the Atlanta Dream gives the Lynx a chance of improving their position and making a run at a top-two seed in the WNBA playoffs. Most experts would say that the Liberty are still the odds-on favorite to get a top-two seed, but the Lynx now have a better chance of upending New York for that reward and another round of home-court advantage in the postseason. The WNBA has basically gone through one-third of its regular-season schedule. Where will we all be when two-thirds of the schedule are completed and the postseason picture gains more dimensions and details? It's up to the Lynx to put themselves in the best possible position to overcome New York for a top-two seed. Winning games at home against inferior opponents is a must for the Lynx, if they want to rise in the standings. This is a game they simply have to win if they want a higher seed.

The Atlanta Dream are a hard team to figure out. They lost at home in a blowout to the Washington Mystics. That was Washington's first win of the season. The Mystics have just two wins right now. Yet, having lost to the Mystics and also to the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, the Dream have also managed to beat the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. They looked strong in a double-digit win over the Los Angeles Sparks earlier this week. Which team is the real Atlanta Dream? We don't know. This is a volatile group, but a road win over the Lynx would certainly get everyone's attention.

Why The Dream Could Cover The Spread

The Lynx did cover the 10.5-point spread against the Dallas Wings earlier this week, but their 12-point victory was a lot closer than the final score seemed. The game was a six-point game near the two-minute mark of regulation. Dallas backers had to feel as though that was a bad beat. They were on the right side of that game most of the way. The Lynx failed to cover another spread at home versus the Los Angeles Sparks last week. This team is still winning games, but it isn't consistently covering spreads and it isn't dominating opponents the way it had previously been doing.

Why The Lynx Could Cover The Spread

The Lynx might not always play great, but after a so-so game, they usually play better. The Lynx were not especially sharp against Dallas. They should be better against Atlanta, and that will enable them to cover.

Final Dream-Lynx Prediction & Pick

The Lynx should play a high-quality game. That will be enough for them to cover. Take Minnesota.

Final Dream-Lynx Prediction & Pick: Lynx -8.5
