Why The Bucks Could Cover The Spread

The Bucks will be without Jrue Holiday again in this one as he continues to nurse his ankle injury. Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton will look to continue to carry the load for Milwaukee as Brook Lopez also remains out. Antetokounmpo is enjoying another MVP caliber season, as he is averaging 28.5 points and 11.4 rebounds per game so far this season. The Bucks should have enough to beat the Hornets without Holiday, but they did struggle to slow them down on Saturday. As just slight favorites, however, Milwaukee may be an appealing play to avenge their loss from over the weekend in this one.

Milwaukee vs. the spread

The Bucks are 19-23 vs. the spread this season, going 12-10 against the spread on the road to this point. Milwaukee is 10-4 as away favorites vs. the line so far this season, and will be matched up with a very good home team in the Hornets on Monday.

Why The Hornets Could Cover The Spread

Charlotte has been a much better team on their home floor this season. With their win over Milwaukee on Saturday, the Hornets moved to 11-5 at home for the season. LaMelo Ball continues to lead this team with strong point guard play, as he averages 19.3 points and 7.8 assists per game to this point. Miles Bridges has had a breakout campaign for Charlotte this season, leading the team in scoring with 19.6 points per game on 48% shooting from the floor. The Hornets always have a chance at home, but it will be difficult to knock off Antetokounmpo and the Bucks twice in a row.

Charlotte vs. the spread

The Hornets are a very solid 24-16 vs. the spread so far this season, and an impressive 13-3 against the line at home. Charlotte is 8-2 against the spread as home underdogs this season, which is obviously very good. They will have their hands full Monday evening as they will be trying to knock off the Bucks for the second straight game.

Final Bucks-Hornets Prediction and Pick

Beating a team as good as the Bucks twice in a row is a very difficult thing to do, even if they are without their best defender in Jrue Holiday. Take Milwaukee to cover and win over the Hornets in this one, as the Bucks should be able to bring a better defensive effort this time around. Look for Giannis to have a big game in this one on the way to a Bucks cover and win.
