The Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards will play in an Eastern Conference matchup on Sunday evening. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Bucks-Wizards prediction and pick.
The Bucks and Wizards will battle on Sunday, as each team continues to try to get healthy early in the season. Milwaukee is off to a slow start so far in 2021-22, sitting with a 4-5 record. It is probably not time to panic, however, as Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez have all missed significant time for the Bucks so far. A championship run is grueling, and on top of the Middleton and Holiday went to the Tokyo Olympics after the NBA Finals. The Wizards are a bit banged up as well, as Davis Bertans and Rui Hachimura will both be out Sunday for Washington among others.
Here's how bookmakers have set the Bucks-Wizards odds for this Sunday matchup.
NBA Odds: Bucks-Wizards Odds
Milwaukee Bucks -1 (-106)
Washington Wizards +1 (-114)
Over 219 points (-110)
Under 219 points (-110)

Why The Bucks Can Cover The Spread

The Bucks will have Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday on Sunday, and that is obviously a good start at a win in itself. The Wizards, like any other team on the planet, will have little answer for Antetokounmpo. Holiday figures to draw the Bradley Beal assignment, and there are not many, if any, men better for the task around the league. The Bucks are a little thin depth wise in the absence of Middleton, Lopez as well as Donte DiVincenzo, so they will need more from the guys they do have.
If Milwaukee can shoot well as a team from three, that should help make up for those absences and put the Bucks in good position for a win on Sunday evening.
Why The Wizards Can Cover The Spread
The Wizards are 6-4 on the young season, but have lost three of four after a 5-1 start. Injuries are mounting, as they are without Bertans, Hachimura and other rotation players. Beal and new point guard Spencer Dinwiddie have made for a tough cover so far this season, leading the Wizards to an above average offense so far. Washington is actually eight in net rating so far in 2021-22, for whatever that is worth.
It will be tough to slow down Antetokounmpo, but if the Wizards can find a way to keep the two-time MVP from going off on Sunday, they will have a good chance to take the win on their home floor.
Final Bucks-Wizards Prediction & Pick
Take the Bucks to win on the road on Sunday vs. the Wizards. The Bucks are looking to get back to .500, and Antetokounmpo and Holiday will arguably be the best two players on the floor.
FINAL BUCKS-WIZARDS PREDICTION & PICK: Bucks -1 (-106)
