The Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers will play in a Western Conference matchup on Friday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Clippers-Blazers prediction and pick.

The Clippers and Blazers have both had interesting starts to their season. The Clippers have one win compared to three losses, but that lone win was a 30-point victory over the Blazers on Monday. The Blazers are 2-2, with two impressive wins over the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies, but a pair of disappointing losses, including the one on Monday to Los Angeles as well as their season-opening loss to the Sacramento Kings. Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are both off to solid starts, however, and the Blazer will search for consistency in this home game vs. the Clippers. Los Angeles will desperately look to avoid falling to 1-4 in what is always a tough, deep Western Conference playoff race.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Clippers-Blazers odds for this Friday matchup.

NBA Odds: Clippers-Blazers Odds

Los Angeles Clippers +3 (-110), +132 ML

Portland Trail Blazers -3 (-110), -156 ML

Under 223 points (-110)

Why The Clippers Can Cover The Spread

Well, start with the fact that their only win in 2021-22 is that 30-point beatdown of the Blazers. The Clippers may be too hurt however to pull off a repeat of that performance, and they'll be on the road this time. Serge Ibaka, Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris Sr. all remain out in the frontcourt for the Clippers, putting a lot of pressure on their healthy forwards and centers. Leonard's absence has also put an increased workload on Paul George, who is still off to a solid start so far this season. The Clippers are not as bad as their record shows despite the injuries, as they played tight games vs. the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in back-to-back season opening losses. The Clippers should be competitive tonight, but not sure about getting just a couple of points on the road.

Why The Blazers Can Cover The Spread

The Blazers should win this game, as their stars are healthy. Norman Powell is questionable with a left knee injury, but other than than all of the Blazers key guys are in tonight. Lillard and McCollum will be looking to avenge the beating the Clippers gave them in Los Angeles earlier in the week, and we should see a better shooting performance from them than we did on Monday as well. The Blazers are in good shape to pick up a cover and a win on their home floor Friday night.
