Article Continues BelowWhy The Hornets Can Cover The Spread
LaMelo Ball has already morphed into one of the better guards in the league. Ball is averaging 19 points, 6 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game, shooting 46% from three-point range. Bridges is ooff to an even hotter start, posting 26.2 points and 8 rebounds through five games. Both players seem to have leveled up this season, taking a step forward on each end of the court. The Hornets have been a tough opponent, and they should be right in this game. Taking Charlotte with the points is perfectly reasonable play, though guard Terry Rozier is questionable for Friday's contest, and forward P.J. Washington is doubtful, so it's not impossible the Hornets are down two starters on Friday.
Why The Heat Can Cover The Spread
The Heat are tough as nails, and even tougher at home. They play one of the most physical brands of basketball you will see with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, along with newcomers Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker. The Heat list Adebayo and Lowry as probable, so they should be at or near full strength on Friday night. Miami could be in good shape for a cover and a win at home vs. Charlotte, especially if Rozier and Washington are unable to play. The Heat are the better team even if everyone is healthy, so they will be at an ever greater advantage at home if the Hornets are down two key players.
Final Hornets-Heat Prediction & Pick
The Hornets potentially being down two starters is a big deal here. Check the injury reports later, but for now take the Heat to cover at home. Rozier and Washington provide quite a bit of production for the Hornets, so it will be difficult to replace that if they are unable to play.
FINAL HORNETS-HEAT PREDICTION & PICK: Heat -6 (-114)
