The Utah Jazz are rolling once again as they have won their last six straight games. All it took was Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert to return to the team to get back on track. They are now (36-21) on the season which puts them 4th in the Western Conference. The Los Angeles Lakers, on the other hand, are miserable right now as they can't buy a win. They have lost three straight and are just (26-31) on the season. They need a huge win tonight and if it's another blowout loss, this team is pretty much done for. This is their last game before the All-Star break, they need a win.

Why The Jazz Could Cover The Spread
Utha should have zero issues covering this spread. Not only are the Lakers easy to beat right now, but the Jazz are one of the more talented teams in the NBA when healthy. They will likely not have Rudy Gay available as he's been out with a knee injury. Besides that, the Jazz are healthy and ready to make a run once again. As for the Lakers, they will be without Carmelo Anthony and Avery Bradley with lower-body injuries. The Jazz should be able to take care of the Lakers, who just can't seem to figure it out right now.
LeBron James is playing very well despite their lack of success. If it wasn't for him, the Lakers would be a total joke right now. Many could consider them that anyway. These teams meet for the second time this year as the Lakers actually won the first meeting 101-95. If the Jazz keep their pace and do not allow the Lakers to win on the defensive end, the Jazz will cover this spread on the road.
Why The Lakers Could Cover The Spread
LA comes in as the underdogs once again. If they don't get back on track in this game, then the second half of the season will be miserable for them. Many Lakers fans and even the team know that they just need to get into the playoffs to have a shot. But as of now, they might not even make it if they don't start winning games now. The teams behind them are awful and they just can't afford to let them creep up.
James, AD, and Russell Westbrook need to all be on their game tonight or they will get run out of the arena. The Jazz are 22-11 against the West, meanwhile, the Lakers are 14-19. The last 10 games have been opposite for each other as the Jazz are 6-4 and LA is 3-7. A major problem for the Lakers during this bad stretch is that they have let opponents go on huge runs during the middle of the game. They also come out of the gates real slow, so they need to pick up the pace and be more consistent on offense if they want to turn things around.

The Jazz spread makes too much sense to not choose here. They should be able to win this game by five points on the road. The Lakers have the talent to keep this game close and even win, but they need to prove it before anyone will take them seriously again.
