Why The Lakers Could Cover The Spread
The Los Angeles Lakers have been having an underwhelming season so far. They barely have a winning record and haven't been able to live up to the hype yet. The Lakers are coming off an 18 point loss to the Chicago Bulls. To be fair, the Bulls are one of the hottest teams in basketball right now, but still. LA was not competitive in that game. The Lakers have just been all over the place this season and will need to come together if they want to get a road win against the Bucks.
Leading the way for the Lakers is Anthony Davis. AD was ejected from their last game, but was on pace to have a very solid night. Davis exited the game in the third quarter, but already put up 20 points and 6 rebounds. The big man is averaging 24 points and 11 rebounds a game. He is a difference maker for LA and will be a huge part of this game. The AD-Giannis match up had been highly anticipated and will certainly be a battle. Get ready for Davis to step it up on Wednesday.

By AD's side is Russell Westbrook. Westbrook is the newest member of this Lakers team. While he is still figuring out his role for LA he has been a top contributor. In their loss to Chicago, Russ had 25 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Westbrook is trending in the right direction and Lakers fans should be excited to see him finally ball. The explosive guard is averaging over 19 points a game and nearly 9 rebounds and 8 assists. If Westbrook can continue to play well then LA could feasibly take down the reigning champs.
Why The Bucks Could Cover The Spread
The Milwaukee Bucks have been struggling this season. They have suffered injuries and really haven't looked like the same team that won an NBA championship. Milwaukee is coming off a 20 point loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks are a good team, but this game should have been more competitive. Even without Khris Middleton, the Bucks are a good team and are more than capable of winning games. Expect the Bucks to try and bounce back against a vulnerable LA team.
Leading the way for Milwaukee is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak is one of the best, if not the best, player in the NBA. He is a match up nightmare and can dominate opposing teams. In their loss to Atlanta he only 26 points, 6 assists, and 5 boards. This is a below average outing for the big man. Giannis is averaging over 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists a game. If Giannis can bounce back against the Lakers then the Bucks should have no problem running away with this one.
A bright spot for this Bucks team has been Grayson Allen. Milwaukee added Allen to the roster this offseason and it seems to have been a good move. The young buck is averaging a career high 16 points per game and shooting over 43% from beyond the arc. Allen has been a solid contributor for the Bucks and will look to continue his early season success on Wednesday. This Bucks team should be able to bounce back from a tough loss and put away the Lakers.
Final Lakers-Bucks Prediction & Pick
The line for this game is super wide. Both of these teams just lost by nearly 20 points so it's definitely a tough pick. In general the Bucks have faced tougher competition, but LA has only gotten better as the season has progressed. Losing AD before the fourth quarter in their last game had a huge impact on the outcome. The bookmakers might be overcompensating for LA's loss when they would have likely been much more competitive if AD stayed in the game. The Lakers might not win this game but they should be able to cover. Pick Los Angeles to cover and hope that all their players make it to the end of the game.
FINAL LAKERS-BUCKS PICK: Los Angeles Lakers +9.5 (-110)
