This matchup has the makings to be a classic! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Nets-Warriors prediction and pick.
Brooklyn is on the road in this one so that means Kyrie Irving will be available. The Nets are (29-19) on the season but are on a three-game losing streak. They lost to the Denver Nuggets last time out but didn't have any of their big three playing. It looks like James Harden will suit up for this game but of course, Kevin Durant is out with his injury.
The Golden State Warriors are on a four-game winning streak as both teams are trending in opposite direction. They just defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-115 last time out. The Warriors are (36-13) on the season which is good for the 2nd seed behind the Phoenix Suns.

Why The Nets Could Cover The Spread

With Harden and Irving available tonight, the Nets have a chance to snap their four-game losing streak. This is a very large spread even though the Warriors own the second-best record in the NBA. Either way, Brooklyn will be trying to avoid their fifth straight loss, so I'd expect their efforts to be intense. I give the Nets more than the chance of covering this spread, this should be an easy one even though they are on the road. They are (17-6) on the road and that is largely due because of Irving's presence. Patty Mills and LaMarcus Aldridge will need to step up and not force everything on Harden and Irving's shoulders. The Nets are somehow a surprising bad team against the spread this season at 18-29-1.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread
The Warriors will need to play their best to cover this spread tonight. The Nets are not an easy team to beat even without Durant. This is also a spread that is pretty high so the Warriors will need to win comfortably. Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala will be missing this game so that makes it even tougher on the defensive end without the two anchors. The Warriors are 27-19-3 ATS this season and are one of the better teams in both winning categories. It will be exciting to see Steph Curry and Klay Thompson go at it against Irving once again like they did in the Finals not too long ago. If the Splash Bros are on their game then they will have a chance to win, but covering will be hard unless their entire team plays well.

I'm picking the Nets to cover this spread on the road. I think eight points is too much going against Harden and Irving. The Nets should even have a chance to win this game at the end.
