The NBA regular season continues with games on Wednesday. The Denver Nuggets will hit the road and take on the Utah Jazz. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Nuggets-Jazz prediction and pick.
These two teams have had very similar starts to the season. The Denver Nuggets have won five of their last six games but are coming off a tough loss. While the Utah Jazz are coming off of five-straight losses. This should be an interesting match between two teams trending in opposite directions.

Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread
The Denver Nuggets have had lots of ups and downs this season. They have had to battle with injuries and COVID and through it all, they have managed to secure a winning record. Through their first 50 games, the Nuggets have won 28 and have lost 22. They had their five-game win streak snapped on Tuesday when they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves by 15. Denver just couldn't keep pace with the Wolves, but they will look to bounce back from that loss on Wednesday. The Jazz are another tough opponent, but the Nuggets definitely have what it takes to make this a good game.
Denver's loss to Minnesota wasn't a result of a poor performance from the Nuggets, rather it was just an impressive performance from the Timberwolves. Everything that Denver did in that game, Minnesota did one better. The Nuggets have been on a roll lately and it seems like the only way to stop them is to play an extraordinary game, and that's what Minnesota did. Denver has been playing team basketball and for the most part that has been getting them wins. In each of their last four games, six or more players have scored in the double digits. Playing time has been well distributed and everyone on this Nuggets team has contributed. If they can continue to do that then they should have no problem brushing off their loss and getting back on track.
The Nuggets have been struggling with injuries all season long. They currently have four players listed on their injury report. The newest addition is Demarcus Cousins, who is listed as questionable with a back injury. Denver has had to deal with a lot of adversity this year but they have shown that they are resilient. Expect the Nuggets to come into Wednesday's game ready for battle.

The Utah Jazz have also had a roller coaster of a season. They were once considered one of the best teams in the league, but have since fallen off quite a bit. Injuries and adversity have proven detrimental to Utah. Through their first 51 games, they have managed to win 31 and lose only 20. Their record is still solid, but recently this team has been struggling. Utah's most recent defeat came at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves by 20. The Wolves have clearly proven to be too much for either of these teams to handle. It has been almost two weeks since Utah has won a game, but they will look to change that on Wednesday.
This Jazz team is lacking leadership. With some of their best players out, Utah has failed to find players to step up. In their last game, Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley combined for 45 points, but they were two of only three players to score in the double digits. When a team is missing their best players they need everyone on the roster to step up. Bench players will be getting more playing time and they need to capitalize on that opportunity. If they can do that then maybe they could get this win.
The biggest roadblock, by far, for this Jazz team is injuries. Utah currently has six players listed on their injury report. Both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, the two best players on this team by far, will remain out for Wednesday's game. Hassan Whiteside and Trent Forrest are listed as questionable for the match. The absence of Mitchell and Gobert makes Utah's chances of winning extremely slim. This team has struggled to find a way to win games without their best players, and there have been no signs that Wednesday will be any different.
Final Nuggets-Jazz Prediction & Pick
This is an easy pick. I don't see why the Nuggets are underdogs in this game. Denver is mostly healthy and they have been on a roll lately. On the flip side, the Jazz are crippled and have lost their last five games. The Nuggets are a lock for this one. Pick Denver to win and cover.
