Sunday night in the Association will feature two teams from the West! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Nuggets-Thunder prediction and pick.
The Denver Nuggets are fresh off of a win against the Sacramento Kings last time out. They are 19-18 on the season which is far below their expectations. The Nuggets were one of the top teams in the West last season but do have that chance to turn it around. The good news is that they are above .500 for now. The Oklahoma City Thunder are struggling big time this season. They arguably have the worst roster in the NBA and will likely remain at the bottom all season long.
Here are the Nuggets-Thunder NBA odds, courtesy of FanDuel.

Why The Nuggets Could Cover The Spread
Article Continues BelowDenver should cover this spread. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is playing extremely well averaging 24.9 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists on the year. He is leading this team but they are also seeing success from Will Barton and Aaron Gordon who are helping the Nuggets scrape by. These teams play for the second time this year where the Thunder won the last game. Denver will really need this rematch win because you don't want to be losing to teams this bad.
The Nuggets are 5-5 in their last 10 games but they have been playing consistently on both ends of the floor. That is a good sign and if they want to cover this spread, they need to keep the consistency going. They can't let Shai Gilgeous-Alexander go off for 27 points again like he did last time. Denver is 16-21 against the spread this year which is not a good sign.
Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread
The Thunder are opposite the Nuggets on the spread this year, at 24-14. They aren't very good at all, but what they do is cover the spread and keep games closer than they should be. The Thunder are 13-25 and are 14th in the West. They are two games out of a play-in spot at the 10 seed, however, so there is still time to turn it around. We likely aren't going to see it, as Gilgeous-Alexander is the only star OKC has. He is turning into a superstar rather, as he is a threat at every statistic. He's averaging 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists on the season.
Luguentz Dort is also playing well averaging 16.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Those two are really the biggest factors for OKC and they will be relied on to cover this spread. They need to contain Jokic and not let him attack the paint and dish out all those assists.
Final Nuggets-Thunder Prediction & Pick
This is not an easy game to pick. The Nuggets are the better team but OKC won the last game. OKC is far better against the spread, so with that being said, let's take the Thunder +7 to cover this spread. They are more than capable of doing so.
Final Nuggets-Thunder Prediction & Pick: Thunder +7 (-110)
