Each of these teams would probably have liked to get off to a better start this season as neither is currently in the top 10 in terms of seeding in the East. Indiana has lost their last four games while the Knicks are riding a two-game losing streak. The Knicks come in as just slim favorites over the Pacers in this one as they continue to play banged up due to Covid and injuries to key players.

Why The Pacers Could Cover The Spread
The Pacers have not be able to hit any kind of a rhythm this season between Covid issues and just middling play. Despite Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner all having decent seasons, the Pacers have lost seven of their last ten games and sit with the third worst record in the East. This may be a spot for them to snap their losing streak vs. a shorthanded Knicks team that has lost two in a row. Indiana has several players in the health and safety protocols that will miss this one including Malcolm Brogdon, Jeremy Lamb and Caris LeVert.
Indiana vs. the spread
The Pacers are 18-18-1 vs. the spread this season and 5-5 against it in their last ten games. Indiana is 7-3 vs. the number as an away dog this season, but has covered just once in their last four games on the road. The Pacers could be in a sneaky spot here getting points vs. the undermanned New York team.
Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread
The Knicks come limping into this one, still favorites at home somehow. Julius Randle, Derrick Rose, Kemba Walker, Nerlens Noel and others remain out. Starting center Mitchell Robinson is questionable to return from his absence with Covid as he has cleared health and safety protocols. New York is 5-5 in their last ten games and has lost their last two by double-digits. This is a tough spot for the Knicks as favorites despite being without potentially four of their top eight players.

The Knicks had covered in three straight before losing back-to-back games in lopsided fashion in their last two as they have tried to play shorthanded. The Knicks are 16-21 overall vs. the spread this season, and 6-12 vs. the number at home. New York is 6-8 vs. the spread as home favorites this season.
Final Pacers-Knicks Prediction and Pick
Take the Pacers to cover and win in this spot as the Knicks are still without Kemba Walker, Julius Randle and Derrick Rose. Indiana has lost four straight but will have Sabonis and Turner for this one while the Knicks do not have any of their best couple options offensively. The Pacers still have a positive point differential on the season and could be due for some good luck at some point. Picking games with so many absences can be tough so there may be better plays on the board this evening.
