The Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Timberwolves-Warriors prediction and pick.

The Timberwolves come into this premier matchup as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Head coach Chris Finch's squad has won eight of their last 10 games and four of their last five, including impressive wins over the Brooklyn Nets and these Warriors. Another win would help cement Minnesota's status as a Western Conference playoff contender. Golden State has already solidified that status with a 35-13 record, which is good for the second seed in the West. The Warriors would love to avenge their earlier loss to the T-Wolves and gain some ground on the first-ranked Phoenix Suns with a win here.

Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

The Warriors have been elite in nearly every facet of the game, but they have a weakness the T-Wolves can exploit in this one. Golden State has struggled to stop opposing fast breaks this season, as they allow nearly 13 fast break points per game. They also allow their opponents to hit nearly 12 three-pointers per game. Minnesota averages 14 fast break points per game, one of the best numbers in the league. The T-Wolves also make the second-most threes per game in the entire league, so they should be able to capitalize on Golden State's defensive weaknesses in this one.

Mid-season basketball means that the injuries are piling up, and Golden State is no exception. They'll be without star power forward Draymond Green in this game, while also missing backup forward Andre Iguodala. Both of these guys play key roles for the Warriors, so filling their shoes won't be easy. Backups Otto Porter Jr. and Jonathan Kuminga will be forced into bigger roles against this dangerous Minnesota team.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Timberwolves have been a decent offensive team this season, but their defense has been downright awful. They allow nearly 110 points per game while allowing their opponents to shoot 53% from inside the arc. The Warriors are one of the best shooting teams in the league, so they should pick this defense apart fairly easily. It helps that Golden State ranks inside the top five in the NBA in shooting efficiency and effective field goal percentage this season.

The Warriors have obviously had massive success this season, and that includes their numbers against the spread. Golden State is currently 26-19-3 ATS, and that record improves to 16-8-2 whenever they play at home as a favorite. Chase Center clearly provides a huge home-court advantage, as the Warriors are an insane 22-4 on their home court.

Final Timberwolves-Warriors Prediction & Pick

This line is a little bit too small for the Warriors. They should capitalize on their home-court advantage with a win and a cover.
