The Golden State Warriors and Charlotte Hornets will play in an inter-conference matchup on Sunday evening. It's time to continue our NBA odds series and make a Warriors-Hornets prediction and pick.
The Warriors and Hornets enter Sunday's contest heading in different directions. Golden State is 11-1 this season, riding a seven-game win streak into Sunday's action. The Hornets however have lost 7 of their last 11 games after starting the season 3-0, though they have won their last two. As strong favorites on the road, the Warriors will look for their eight straight win as they are seemingly rounding into form as one of the top contenders in the Western Conference. Charlotte looks for their third straight win after scuffling a bit of late.

Article Continues BelowWhy The Warriors Can Cover The Spread
The Warriors are absolutely rolling at the moment, winning each of their last seven games by double-digits. Betting against them right now seems like a horrible idea, and they still haven't gotten Klay Thompson back. Stephen Curry is the head of the snake, averaging 28.4 points, 6.4 assists and 6.3 rebounds. Draymond Green leads the team with over seven assists per game, while guys like Jordan Poole and Andre Iguodala are helping tie everything together. Golden State has had the best start to the season one could imagine, so they come into Sunday's game with a great chance to cover and win. Fading the Warriors in this spot seems reckless, though this is the NBA and they will obviously lose another game at some point.
Why The Hornets Can Cover The Spread
The Hornets have been a good offensive team this season, but quite the opposite defensively. This is evidenced by their 27th ranked defense in terms of efficiency, compared to an offensive rating that ranks seventh in the NBA. Golden State meanwhile ranks first in the NBA with a +14.1 net rating, first in defensive efficiency and second in offense. The Warriors' +14.1 points per 100 possessions number ranks 7.1 points ahead of the Miami Heat, who have the second best net rating in the league. LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges have helped power the Hornets to a good start offensively this season, but they are facing a juggernaut on Sunday. Betting the Hornets in this spot is purely wishful thinking that the Warriors finally look human for a game. That is not a safe bet at this point.
